Copyright is administered by copyright owners themselves or by collecting societies which provide centralised copyright licensing services to copyright users.

The following copyright collecting societies operate in New Zealand and are Copyright Council members:

  • Australasian Performing Rights Association Ltd (APRA)
  • Australasian Mechanical Copyright Owners Society Ltd (AMCOS)
  • Copyright Licensing Ltd (CLL)
  • Phonographic Performances New Zealand Ltd (PPNZ)

    Join the Copyright Council of New Zealand
    The Copyright Council of New Zealand was incorporated in 1983 as a non-profit society to provide copyright and cultural based industries with a range of services including an interface with Government. It currently has 22 members representing a wide spectrum of copyright creators and owners.
