. Ownership - If a client commissions me to take some photographs, but doesn’t pay me, do I own the copyright in the photos?

As long as the client has agreed to pay you for the work, the copyright will still be owned by the client. However, you are entitled to recover the debt from the client.
Note however, proposed changes to copyright law affecting the commissioning rule.
